AUV Power Subsystem 2012

		During the Fall 2011 and Spring 2012 semesters, a group of undergraduate students and one research assistant designed, built, and tested an internal combustion engine battery-recharging system. The engine drives a custom generator which recharges Lithium-Ion batteries onboard a mid-sized Autonomous Undersea Vehicle (AUV).
The prototype system extends the endurance of the vehicle by a factor of ten. For an article about this course, click here.
